9/11/Civil Rights & Iraq

Since 9/11
Civil Rights have sufferred
You feel it
its the fear factor
its there
You try to go about
your life, imagining
Freedom is your right
One you can share
But almost every bugger
in the universe
Is talking up the threats
now every day
And Civil Rights are coming under
pressure
And gradually we're losing
them okay!
ID Cards are mooted
thats the first step
Stop and Search
and wait for it I'm sure
The friendly walking Bobby will be
armed soon, not seen as quite so friendly
anymore
If you fly across the sky to Bush America
Land of the Free, then watch it
for Alas
The Gov't wants access to your data
And keeps it filed and now does this en masse
Even down to what your blooming eating!
Soon a colour coding will apply
Green your free to travel
Yellow a bit doubtful
And Red you'll be detained
I wonder why!

CAPPS 2 that's according
to New Statesman
The CIA may also take a look
A comprehensive tracking and surveillance
scheme
Controlling us our freedom brought to book
Data the protection and our rights is not yet law
In Bush America I have to say
And if your into Greenpeace
Believe in a green way
Foward, then take care
mate every day
Free speech is the right tis said
of everyone
But take care where you do it
or you'll find
Preventive those detentions were just random Democracy a good word but behind
closed doors things happen
and its changing everywere
Iraq occurred, and drags
its bloody feet
Deep into our marrow
like an arrow
Shot from someone's bow
into your street
Our protests fell on deaf ears
Blair was in there
dropping bombs
we rallied round our boys
death was filmed
and processed for new warriors
Our laser guided bombs made such a noise
Seeing it on Telly just like Hollywood
That was it our right to protest gone
Baghdad took the brunt of the explosions
Weapons of mass destruction all a con!

The Earth is soaking up the blood
of warriors
Jennni Russell thankyou for your piece
Innocence is devilishly difficult
I hope to God
these horrors do soon cease
