On our way to Bonaire

Its 4.00am
the sea is slatey grey
white horses ride
out in front of me
they smash against
the great ship's side
and run into white
foaming whirlpools
sending waves afar
Ocean Village carves
its way
but I'm not sure
where we are
Last night we had our
lifeboat drill
on how to get away
what muster station to go to
should there come the day
everybody legally has to learn
these things so now I know
how to leave the ship
and exactly where to go

its huge, its really massive
the voyage so far has been
a bit more lumpy
those on higher decks
may wished they'd been
Where we are now on
E Deck, midships feels okay
a little bit of movement
but not much, I will say
Its New Year's eve or Hogmanay
In the same place I was yesterday
steaming towards old Bonaire
I bet that you wish you were there
