In 1995 they said that carrots
Were full of horrid pesticides- despair!
Someone in a pigeon hole in Gov't
Probably threw their hands up in the air
The samples that they'd been and gone and analysed
Someone had just bunged them all away
And so they had to go and get some others
And it seems the grower wasn't that au fait
With why the pesticide is applied carefully
It seems this bloke just got a sack and threw
Some got really covered some got none at all
And when the tests came back what could they do
Cry their blooming eyes out and call
Chemist
Get him on the box to tell the news
You will have to top and tail your carrots
Or we may end, up with more than we can lose
There is so much about, its bound to cause concern
Conflicting stuff that's going to confuse
Imagine what its like to feed the children
With almost everyday conflicting news!
Dicofel they've found this stuff on strawberries, but it is not approved for them at all
So why's it being used is anyone accused?
Found at such high levels
it does gall
Methamidophos, on grapes and nectarines
Peaches all the summer fruit we buy
Imazacil on citrus fruits its awful
Take marmalade, and zest and just ask why?
Aldicarb on spuds would you believe it
This a carbamate no mate of mine
It really is too hazardous to use this stuff
Our health is very much now on the line
DDT has been found inside salmon
Fresh and tinned its there thanks to the way
The chemists gave approval many years ago
and it lingers on our planet till to-day
We're poisoning our planet and our bodies
And turning what was good now into bad
We're feminizing Nature by such actions
Which isn't cool its just immensely sad
