at Herons Lodge a frosty Sunday Morning in Bradwell Road where, We Discussed Succession and thought about it all so seriously We prepared our take, our concentrated efforts to create Speeches, Thoughts, and cleverly a memorable debate. Twas clear that it had merit And that it went, to the heart Of how we all perform as clubs It did that from the start We had a nice agenda and after registration We all sat down and took in some essential information Trish welcomed us from Eldergate and Area Governor Khai Eng Facilitated the whole event and a calmness she did bring Then the Presidents who were asked to talk about Succession gave Their take on how they saw it and really all did pave A way we all could understand and enlightened thought entwined Succession was a subject That now was on our mind United with successes and problems we all face And how everyone spoke very well at a delightful pace We broke for lunch, a time to chat The Presidents did meet The Council talked through how we all Could assist each, to compete Afterwards we had our open forum and it went well a Brainstorming That clearly had, a lot of stuff to sell For many people got involved It was good natured and true And I know we came away a'feeling the Cog was helpful too As Area Governor of Area 4 it was so pleasing to see Potential Officers in evidence Yes they held the key They gave their time They listened They questioned They were there Succession gripped the lot of us And made us so aware Of a blue sky Of Jack Frost out there With his flurries of fine snow We headed home delighted Hopeful the clubs would grow Thank you to Eldergate Club and Trish and Jenny for their hard work and good food Thank you Area Governor Khai Eng for all the work in designing the programme and agenda, Thank you Alastair for getting the printing done for us on time and thankyou to all of you who took the time to support your clubs DCP and to learn and meet other Toastmasters, you are indeed all special souls and I salute you |
