Short back and sides

Short back and sides
Keep that bowl on your head
Use those old clippers
The clippers instead
Of those terrible scissors
Mum kept in her drawer
as blunt as could be
No they couldn't be more
Mum once cut my sideboards
and tore at my cheek
That little red mark
was with me a week
a month, 50 years
perhaps even more
Those scissors were
rusty as hell
Despite the creamed myrrh
and still to this day
In the light of the sun
and the passing of Time
I know what she'd done
And that little red mark
Had retained all its hue
And serves to remind
Me,Dear mother of you
