The Dongria and the quest for Bauxite
Rex Tyler, 25.07.2010 · Printable version

A sacred mountain in India
The indigenous are there
Aluminum from Bauxite
and Corporates, unaware
of Culture and of Forests
and of people's precious life
All they see is riches,
big profits, utter strife
is guaranteed for the Dongria
in tune with Nature, they
are minorities
to be wiped out
They haven't got a say
The insatiable greed mongers
who waste resources and
Create a hellish open mine
and so destroy their land
It is evil and its terrible
70 million tonnes
of Bauxite from their sacred
mountain
and toxic waste now runs
all over on the lower plains
Vedanta dearie me!
They come to plunder
and I wonder

Why we let them

BUY all your drinks in glass
avoid aluminum unless its re-cycled
and if you have any aluminum re-cycle it
Open cast mining destroys habitats
kills the soil and murders many species
I charge you all to think when you buy
leave the aluminum on the shelf
they will get the message
