| In the Land of Rapunzel
Where wizards and fairies Grow organic food and stock up their dairies With organic cows, ruminating away On virgin green grass and sunshine rich hay Olives in groves, where little birds sing Knowing the fairness, and wisdom you bring A standard of ethics, that's second to none In your world crammed with life and a whole lot of fun Marzipan packed with rich almonds we see Hanging like diadems off of each tree Fruit in a subtle sweet cushion of air Flavouring biscuits With tastes that are rare In the Land of Rapunzel The nut butter hills Stand aloft feeling soft As down from them spills Wonderful streams of honey galore Pinotepean and Mayan and more In the Land of Rapunzel Lives Lukas the King What he does, for Tofu Makes even me, sing Such taste and reward In a company who Bring wonderland into The real world for you Caring and sharing On love they are high Its the story I tell In the Land where the sky Has no ozone hell hole To spread ill, and strife Just a place where the good Can live out their life In the big world outside There are deserts of grief Where great ugly monsters Get massive relief Compromise people For profits galore Paying them"peanuts" To spray more and more With terrible chemicals All around the place Many get sick Its a dreadful disgrace And here my oasis I call Cooks Delight Its just down the street From the monsters that bite So huge, but I do not allow them to scare For I've found the big windmill And go everywhere Pushing my barrow Piled high and just say That they cannot hurt me Not now, not today For ethical sourcing Protects all who dare And its just great that you Dear Rapunzel are there Poem written 31st January 1997 |
