Ode to the Seal

Our Earthling friends are born to be
On frozen wastes and frozen sea
A layer of blubber, and wool like fur
Thats where so many of them were
Born to face a fearsome wind
In icy realms where humans have sinned
Against Humanity such an act
Of murder and they react
Clubbing to death the infant soul
With a murderous lack of control

A baby, what a heinous crime is this
Nurtured by mother to suckled bliss
Smashed with cudjels and a rifle butt
and skinned alive and torn and cut
a baby God gave life, and we
Turn our backs and let it be
Just avoiding their cries of pain
And every year its starts again
So that fashion houses can use their skin
in fancy ways and underpin
What is, a futile excercise
Of orientation for evil eyes

The warming up does cause some fear
At least to baby seal around here
Whatever men at large may do
Its affects the temperatures that accrue
Pups get wet and can easily freeze
Their Lanugo, shed then they can freeze
Whatever spirit they might possess
That creates in them some horrid stress
Those that play in the icy sea
The world of joy horizontally
Clusters of crystals and bergs float blue
Such a wondrous world is oft in view

And Canada as bold as brass
Turns her head away, they pass
By a samaritan, she fails to be
For every really young baby
Who finds itself in those frozen climes
Facing the wind and those awesome times
And learning that men those great brave souls
Who clearly have lost what little controls
They ever had,or they ever possessed
For here they come and here's the test
For the baby seals on their icy flows
With hammers and sickles oh! yes they pose
A terrific threat as with all their might
They swing their weapons and they unite
The soul with snow with blood and brine
Oh God I beg you they are mine
Protect them stop this once and for all
This is from our heart so hear the call
