Mesmerized

Are people mesmerized by meat?
Are they,? do they feel
They have to chew a blood soaked
Steak, before they know their real
Far removed from what it was
an innocent calf let's say
Slaughtered within 4 months
of its, first birthday
Fed on milky slops to make
the flesh a bubbly white
chained inside a concrete stall
With lots of bars to bite
Imagine the frustration
the green fields and the sky
Instead a concrete bunker
on excrement to lie
Listening to its mother weeping
day and night
Listening to its mother
how can that be right
any milk she made for him
Stolen straight away
and homogenised for the human tribe
Denature away
Extending, the shelf life
Profit comes to those
Corporates who sacrifice the quality
it grows
their power is bloody massive
Small Farms peel away
Leaving just great factory farms
who change the time of day
Ungulates don't ruminate
they fart a lot and poo
and all this methane
goes into the environment
the loo,greenhouse gases
warm the planet, pollution everywhere
Are people mesmerized by meat
For me I face despair
The thought that people could be
Allowing Corporate greed
To signal to the Factory Farm
That they must succeed
And if torture, and if over crowding
is the only way
Then they will go along with it
And just look the other way
