and a knife is a knife And an animals throat is her own Open your eyes and please realise That steak, you just might have known You might have stroked that darling cow once Or drank from its udder Who knows? And now its a' hanging up there on that chain With blood spurting out of its nose A Life is a life And a steak is a steak But really what stake Did the cow Have in the, well, the equation, nothing at all which was how It existed for 4 years not 15 Raped by some farm hand each year It gave up its babies Despite its torment Oh! yes that abundantly clear It was milked half to death And made lame Till each breath was a torturous struggle to make A Life is a life and strife is such strife When the pain became too hard to take But not in the world where the vegans Respect living creatures with soul Every animal now on this planet Is given to complete control Each has a life Each manages breath And only, Mother Nature decides on its death Not the Farmer who Needs to pay off his loan Nor the Corporate Clown Who hastens to own Every farm in the district Nor the slaughterhouse staff Who descend into mayhem and kill with a laugh We won't see shelves of dead flesh any more or chemical added to what was pure gore Thrust in a pigs stomach and fried in a pan There will be fewer animals That is our plan More food for the humans Much more water too Pollution reduced The rainforest view Less likely to be Crushed and carted away and replaced by the soya bean Every day A friendlier affable society where a life is a life With less anxiety |
