Cloned High Streets up and down our precious country The Corporates now rooted to the spot Their sameness shows a lack of independence But then the Publics been brainwashed a lot They couldn't see it happening these last few years as Specialist Shops have closed down in their wake to take away the life's blood of communities and in their place great sleeping monsters quake Fighting with each other over Market Share ever bigger/ open 24 hours Sundays are not sacred, even Bank Holidays! this is really how they've used their powers! To kid us that by them being open 7 days and selling Out of Season foods each day That all of us will bow down to our Masters For whereever we shop sameness fills our day And so the vast majority have got there Every town's the same where ere we go Unfair Trade is rife we say we enjoy life and the poor are getting poorer as we know |
