This is sung to the old tune I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts Berkhamsted Town has got its share of 4 by 4's Gas guzzling, and pumping Co2 A Supermarket Giant with extra powerful jaws Gobbling up the Specialists is what it likes to do Lots of them have fallen by the wayside As the Giants Car-Park grows and grows and grows Local shops devoured, people overpowered Its all been happening underneath our nose Yes its all been happening underneath our nose Convenience, the catchword I suppose But now Transition Time And here's my little rhyme The network of Transition Towns must grow Here we are together lovely people Carbon neutral we must get it right Totnes is a place I think its truly ace Adopt, adapt and implement alright Yes adopt adapt and implement alright Transition we must never e're lose sight From oil dependency the wider plan must be That we'll succeed and our Town will be bright Danny Bonnett is the man to teach us all He knows it works a treat all round the place Totnes, Falmouth, Bristol if it can happen there Then why not to Berkhamsted, a place we we all can share Transition Towns are something to aspire to Bring the local shops back to the scene progress will be made now the foundations laid Climate change and making our town green Adopt adapt and implement today We can do it, for there is a way Wave goodbye to greed we can all succeed Transition Town Berkhamsted what do you say |
