Domestication

Do we ever learn from History? No seldom
Imagine just how many souls have died
Sacrificed, their lives so we might realise
Our folly but of course safe we relied
On Leaders, we'd appointed,and
power corrupted
Every centimetre of their life
Every sector influenced by profit
Leaving others then to argue
with the knife
Wild animals were placed
in every habitat
and man through greed decided that
he would
Domesticate the vegetarian animals
and claim their milk
well just because he could
Claim their flesh as his
because he needed it
Claim their skin as his
for he was cold
The problem is their sacrifice
was sacrosanct
And that is why the new pandemics
rolled, in across the planet
with virility
Powerful to the point of no return
Just a small percentage made the money
and the rest have eyes now filled with such concern
