In the Land of the Mythical Giants
Where volcanoes surge into the sky
Where orchids as perfect as fairies
Do dance on the hillsides so high
Where the clouds partner great Cotopaxi
Whose snow covered cloak seemingly
Sits on his shoulders protecting his soul
Hear the pan flutes rise up beautifully

In the land where the Quichua have lived many years
With their shadows cast over the blue
They are very clever and how they endeavor
To grow to the tune and to view
The beautiful volcanic sculptures
The rainbows that end in their eyes
The pretty lagoons and the forests where tunes
Playfully sing lullabies

In the land of the mythical Giants
A few Quichua cling to the soil
Growing their Quinoa and tending their llama's
And on the dark clods how they toil
Cascada's fall over yonder, drawing the light and the shade
I stand here and think of Cristina
With her ebony hair and gold braid
