It all a buzz(in a listed building in RYE)

The anchor lay for centuries
Underneath the sea
For countless whelks and limpets
The perfect place to be
Once this most majestic
3 ton Patent anchor sped
Down through the salty fathoms
To hold fast to the bed
Thanks to Rye's fine Aqua Club
It found its way to shore
And now sits near the harbour
A part of old sea lore
I had good fortune yesterday
To take the staff to Rye
And gazing at the wooden fissures
Saw another eye
Had seen the ailing structure
Ideal as a room
Bees had made a nest
Inside this catacomb
A series of hewn tunnels
Where myriads of Bees
Had historically lived out their lives
Just totally at ease
Instinct was re-visited
Within this thread of wood
They'd found a listed building
And a temple which was good!
